End of Season report - 04-05-2012

The leagues have all finished for this season now however we were not left without drama on the last day. Tipsy Fc won the Friday league with 7 points to spare in front of runners up Spylaw FC who they played on the last day of the season. It was a tight game which finished 6-5 to Tipsy Fc. Worthy winners and they were presented their medals and trophy by Hearts of Midlothian football professional Mehdi Taouil. Photos of the occasion can be viewed on our facebook page.

The Saturday League title was only decided on the final day of the season as the two top teams played each other in a “winning takes all” game. The Watt Brawlers were no match for Hardly Athletic who beat them 14-5 and secured their third league title in a row. For the time being they seem unstoppable. However the teams are getting stronger in the league and next season will be even harder as we have had interest from seriously talented teams to join the league. Will be a very interesting season with many highs and lows.

The Sunday league was successfully clinched by Paul Gadd’s Youth Squad who won with 36points and only one defeat all season. We look forward to welcoming them back to defend their title and possibly go on to dominate their league such as the likes of Hardly Athletic.
